Gestational and Postpartum Diabetes Screening

Project Summary:

Our overarching objective is to enhance the screening of postpartum type 2 diabetes (T2DM) and mitigate T2DM-related complications among women residing in underserved regions of India. We propose that implementing home-based testing facilitated by community health workers (CHWs) will yield a notably higher rate of T2DM screening postpartum compared to conventional clinic-based referrals. Our reasoning is rooted in the belief that early detection of T2DM among postpartum women will facilitate timely access to clinical interventions, consequently averting T2DM-related adversities.
